The Dirt Crits Are Back!

The Wednesday Night Dirt Crits are 10 years strong and we're proud to work with Bike Monkey on our mid-week mountain bike lungbuster. Whether you're coming off a day at the office or bringing your kids by for their first race experience, the Dirt Crits are there to stoke the fires of both your fun and your fitness, all in and around Santa Rosa. Check Bike Monkey's Dirt Crit page for information on start times, venues, and other relevant race bits, then head on over to the most fun you can have in town on a school night.

As ever, The Bike Peddler will be hosting an elbow-rubber of a party with prizes, awards, grilled goods, and chilled beverages at the end of the series in August. Look for us to present a lucky junior racer with a brand spankin' new mountain bike for taking part in what's become one of Santa Rosa's racing traditions.

Annadel Demo Extravaganza -UPDATED

Not sure whether the Specialized Stumpjumper FSR Comp or the Kona Tanuki Supreme is the right bike for you? Can't decide between the Specialized Camber 29'er or the Kona Hei Hei 29? Then be sure to check out the Specialized, Kona and Marin demo day coming up in May.

The Bike Peddler and NorCal Bike Sport will be hosting a two day demo extravaganza in Annadel May 26-27. Specialized, Kona and Marin mountain bikes will be available to ride both days. THE DEMO WILL BE HELD IN THE OAK KNOLLS PICNIC AREA AT SPRING LAKE. THE START TIME IS 9:00AM AND WILL RUN TO 4:00PM BOTH DAYS. BBQ AND DRINKS WILL BE AVAILABLE. AS ALWAYS, DRIVERS LISCENSE AND HELMET ARE REQUIRED TO DEMO ANY BIKE.

Directions: From Hwy 101, take Hwy 12 East, crossover Farmers Lane onto Hoen Avenue heading east, crossover Summerfield Road and take a left at stop sign on to Newanga Avenue. From there, continue into park. Need additional directions to the Oak Knolls picnic area? Click here!

Park Tool School Is Back!

Park Tool School is back at the Bike Peddler! Classes will start Thursday, April 19th and will be taught by Bike Peddler mechanic Ed Sanchez.

Classes will be scheduled for every other Thursday at the Bike Peddler Service Department from 6:30pm to 8:00pm. Each topic will be taught for two classes before moving on to the next. In this case, basic maintenance will be taught on April 19th and again on May 3rd before moving on to the next topic.

Each class will cost $30 and must be paid in full for your spot to be reserved, as each class will be limited to six students. The Park Tool School class book will also be available for $20 with the purchase of the class. At the end of each class, students will be able to purchase any part or accessory (bikes and sale items excluded) for 10% off!

IBIS Demo Days

2012 Bikes Have Arrived

2012 bikes from Specialized, Marin and Kona have arrived at the Bike Peddler. Looking for that Specialized mountain bike you rode at the Howarth Park Demo Day? Stumpjumpers, Cambers and Enduros are being built daily.

Kona bikes are back at the Bike Peddler for 2012. 29'er mountain bikes and the customer favorite "Humu" cruiser bike are a few of the great options in the store now from Kona.

2012 demo bikes are also becoming availaible. Stumpjumpers and Epics are currently ready to ride, with Cambers coming in the future. Call ahead for sizes and availability at 707-571-2428.

Reading Tree Donations

This summer the Bike Peddler was a drop off location for old books, DVDs and and cds through www.readingtree.org. We recently had our first pickup and were happy to see so much generosity. Thanks for the donations and keep them coming!

Specialized Demo Day

Specialized, along with NorCal Bike Sport and the Bike Peddler, will be holding demo days in Annadel State Park July 30 & 31, 8:30am - 3:00pm.

The demo will be located at the Channel Drive parking lot. Specialized 2012 bikes will be featured and available to ride.

Helmet and a driver's license required to demo a bike.

New Ibis Mojo SL-R and Mojo HD

The Bike Peddler currently has the all new Ibis Mojo SL-R and Mojo HD in the shop! The Mojo SL-R, available for sale mid June, is a ridiculously light trail bike featuring many of the newest technologies in mountain biking. Ibis' Mojo HD, available for demo, is a 160mm travel all mountain machine.

NEW Chrome kicks

Chrome, a company mostly known for its bomber, high quality, edgy messenger bags, has recently stepped into the shoe market. One of their latest offerings, which we will be brining into the stores, is the Tobruk, a durable Codura, low cut slip-on that fits comfortably into toe clips. It has 100% vulcanized construction, a re-enforced nylon/glass fiber shank to support the midsole, and a durable rubber heel cup with a reflective safety hit. They come in black and grey.

The style and simplicity of the track bike, Sanchez, and created the Del Norte. Del Norte can accommodate a wider range of tires and traditional full fenders with stays.
